7 Year Old Dies Following Car Accident

ARDMORE, OK -  A 7 year old girl was killed in a car accident Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on Highway 70 at Harvey Road in Ardmore around 5 p.m. Tuesday, shutting down the west bounds lanes for nearly three hours.    

According to the highway patrol, an SUV driven by Cynthia Potts from Ardmore was turning onto Highway 70 and failed to yield at the center median. She pulled right out in front of a one ton truck pulling a goose neck trailer with four head of cattle inside. Both vehicles rolled. 

One of Potts' passengers 7 year old Trinity Owen was flown to OU Medical Center where she died around 2:40 Wednesday morning from massive injuries. 

An 8 year old boy was treated and released at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore as was Potts and the driver of the truck James Garner of Ardmore. 

Seat belts and car seats were in use.
