Stephen joined the KTEN news team in August 2011.
Born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma, Stephen has grown up around severe weather and has been fascinated with it from a very young age. After experiencing the May 3rd, 1999, tornado outbreak first-hand, he was convinced that he wanted to study the weather and become a meteorologist. He went on to study meteorology at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Broadcast Meteorology. He gained valuable forecasting and broadcasting experience during his time as an intern at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. Stephen also spent time both as a Weather Assistant and as a Reporter for OU Nightly, OU's daily broadcast news program. Stephen was also involved in numerous other organizations, including the Oklahoma Weather Lab, executive committees for the Campus Activities Council, the executive branch of the University of Oklahoma Student Association, and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, where he was a re-founding father of the fraternity.
Stephen is a proud Sooner alumnus and a huge Sooner sports fan (Boomer Sooner!) and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. He loves spending time with friends and family and talking weather and sports with anyone who'll listen! Stephen is extremely excited to be in Texoma and feels very fortunate to get the opportunity to forecast the exciting and unpredictable weather that we often see! If you have any weather questions or just want to talk weather with Stephen, feel free to send him an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
