Fire Breaks Out at Highland Drive Home

Posted: Updated:

DENISON, TX -- Denison fire crews were busy Monday morning as flames broke out at a home in the 4700-block of Highland Drive.

By the time crews arrived just after nine o-clock, the fire had already reached the attic. No one seemed to be home at the time, and investigators are still searching for the cause of the fire. Most of the damage was confined to the bedroom and bath.

"Our guys got in, did a real good knock down  and got the fire knocked out pretty quick. There's fire damage to the structure, but damage is going to be limited to the bedroom. There's smoke and heat throughout the house," says Gordon Weger, Denison Fire Chief.

Emergency responders believe that someone from the railroad spotted the fire, and called authorities.
