Durant H.S. in Running for Big Grant

Posted: Updated:

DURANT, OK -- If things go right, Durant High School could get tens of thousands of dollars in grant money.

The school has been nominated in the Clorox "Power a Bright Future" grant program.  If the school gets enough online votes, it could get the top prize, a $50,000 grant, or one of three consolation prizes, which are grants of $20,000.  This is for the Durant High School Library Program, W.R.A.P., which stands for "We Read and Produce."  "It's an amazing opportunity.  I mean, $50,000 would go a long way in our school.  We want to make Durant proud.  We just need people to vote and so far we haven't had the response we would like.  People can vote every day from now until November 1st.
