Bikers Rally to Change Lives

Posted: Updated:

TEXOMA--For some families, getting counseling may be out of reach. In these trying times, it may also be the thing they need to hold themselves together.

It was the 9th annual Changing Lives Harley event at Loose Wheels in Denison. More than 100 bikers came out for a poker run to support the Child and Family Guidance Center of Texoma.

The non profit counseling center funds mental health and counseling services to patients regardless of their ability to pay.

"There are a lot of people this year who have lost their jobs or who are put in difficult situations whether it be through a divorce or child abuse or just marriage counseling and that's the kind of support that we provide," April Patterson said, Chair for 2010 Changing Lives.

According to the fundraising chair, the Sherman center has doubled its services and requests this year. The center serves Grayson, Cooke and Fannin counties.
