Texoma School Superintendent Honored for Volunteer Service

WILSON,OK--A Texoma school superintendent received a national honor for his years of volunteer service.

Kevin Stinson, superintendent in Wilson, Oklahoma, received the award from the National Fraternal Congress of America.

The award honors Stinson for his work with local youth programs, people with intellectual disabilities, and his work promoting breast cancer research.

Even with all his volunteering, Stinson says he was surprised to receive the award.

"There are so many people in southern Oklahoma that give of themselves and their time and energy and devote themselves to making things better for others." Stinson said. "I just felt like there was so many other people that were more deserving than myself."

Stinson says he feels its his responsibility to give back to the community in anyway he can.
