ARDMORE,OK--A neat story out of Ardmore, Oklahoma--Special Olympics of Oklahoma had a day of strikes and spares on Thursday at their bowling tournament.

More than seventy kids spent the morning bowling with coaches and friends.

Its an annual event called the Ada Area Fun Country Bowling Event.

Volunteers say its a special day for the kids to take part in.

"Its really special for the kids. You know, there's only a few events during the year that get them out," said volunteer Harold Muse, "We also have a spring athlete event that's track and field that they get to come out and do. So its one of the three events that they get to come out to each year, so yes its very exciting for them."

The Southern Oklahoma Technology Center had about twenty student volunteers as well. Muse says volunteers are what keep the Special Olympics going in Oklahoma.
