Sherman Woman Finds a Body in her Backyard

Posted: Updated:

SHERMAN, TX -- A woman found a dead body in her backyard. Deeda Payton has the woman's story.

The body was found early Thursday morning. Billie Howard says she walked outside into her backyard around seven o'clock and saw a man's body face down. She says she could see his arms and legs and his bare feet and knew he was dead. She dialed 911. "Ugh I was so nervous. My stomach was upset all morning and I have the trembles at times and I was shaking everywhere. It's awful and it's not something you want to happen to you that early in the morning or any other time," said Howard.

Howard says she is still shaken up. She did not know the man, but says she had seen him in her neighborhood before and her heart goes out to his family and friends.

Sherman police have identified the man as 30-year-old Aaron Price Copher of Sherman.

His body was sent for an autopsy but police say they do not suspect foul play. Their investigation is ongoing.
