Historical, Vacant Building Soon to Have Tours

Posted: Updated:

SHERMAN, TX--A vacant building that has drawn a lot of interest from the Texoma community may soon become a big attraction.

Behind the barbed wires and shrubs is a historical building, and many Texomans may not even know it's name.

The Red River Historical Museum will soon open the building for tours.

The Woodman Circle Home debuted in 1930 was a place for the elderly and orphans.

However, the home closed before the 1960s and has been vacant since the 1980s.

The iron gates will open Saturday September 25th from 10:00 am till 2:00 PM.

There is a Ticket Donation of $25 per person or $20 if purchased in advance. Contact the museum at 903-893-7623 or visit their website for more information at http://hosting.texoma.net/rrhms/

The Red River Historical Museum will have several speakers, including those who lived and worked in the home.
