DURANT, OK -- The first ever Dancing with the Stars of Durant competition will be held at Choctaw Casino Resort's CenterStage on September 18th, 2010 announced Janie Dillard, executive director of gaming at Choctaw Casino Resort.

Community leaders will be the stars as they dance to impress the judges during the fundraiser for Durant Main Street, a nonprofit organization working towards the preservation, economic growth and overall well-being of Durant.

The competition will kick off with a red carpet reception at 6 pm and dinner will be served at 7 pm. The evening promises to be full of fine dining, entertainment from the stars and dancing for everyone. Judges will pick winners by "Most Money Raised" and "Dancing Abilities."

All winnings will go to Durant Main Street. Celebrity dancers will raise money for Durant Main Street through the casting of votes. Each vote costs $5 and can be cast online at www.durantmainstreet.org, in downtown businesses, or at the event.

Dancers agreeing to perform for the cause include Choctaw Chief Greg Pyle, Southeastern President Dr. Larry Minks, First United Bank CEO Greg Massey, Durant Intermediate School Principal Tod Harrison, KTEN's own Lisanne Anderson, ABC Texoma's own Sterling Riggs, Chamber Executive Janet Reed and KXII's Daniel Armbruster.

Tickets, tables and sponsorships are still available. For more information, contact Nicole Page with Durant Main Street at 580.924.1550 or by email ddow@durantmainstreet.org
