Vietnamese Martyr Church Members Remember Those Lost

Posted: Updated:

It's the two year anniversary for the biggest bus accident in the history of Sherman.

The crash took the lives of 17 people. It happened on Highway 75 in Sherman by the Post Oak Creek Berm, which is now decorated with white crosses to remember those lost.

Members of the Vietnamese Martyr Church in Houston spent Sunday morning praying and remembering those who had died.

In 2008, the bus carried a group that was traveling from Houston to Missouri for a Catholic-Vietnamese celebration known as Marian Days.

Members of the church still make the pilgrimage every year to Missouri for the celebration despite the tragedy.

A poorly re-treaded tire was blamed for the crash.
