KTEN Fan Drive Strives to Keep Texomans Cool

Posted: Updated:

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- With temperatures in the 100s, keeping cool can mean life or death. That's why we are collecting fans to donate to local residents. It's time for our annual KTEN fan drive.

All the fans are donated to the Texoma Council of Government's 2-1-1 program. People in need can call and request one.  Judy Fullylove with TCOG helps us distribute the fans. "It can have a huge impact because with a fan and air conditioner unit used combined you can feel at least ten degrees cooler in your home and that's been proven by several energy companies," said Fullylove.

If you need a fan, you can call TCOG by dialing 2-1-1.

If you would like to donate, all you have to do is buy a new, boxed fan and drop it off at our Denison studio.
