Curb repair under way on U.S. 75 in Grayson County

Posted: Updated:

From the Texas Department of Transportation:

Texas Department of Transportation officials met last week with representatives of Winding Road Construction, Inc. of Big Fork, Minnesota in a pre-construction meeting devoted to traffic safety and construction procedures to be used during the curb repair on U.S. 75 in Grayson County. The project limits of work will be between Shepherd Drive and U.S. 82 in Sherman.

The work to be done will consist of repairing and replacing broken curb at various sections along the frontage roads and turnarounds on U.S. 75. Various lanes, entrance and exit ramps may be temporarily closed while work is in progress. All ramps and lanes shall be opened at the end of each work day.

The Contractor has been granted 30 working days to complete this $64,002.50 project. The contractor began putting out barricades today. The contract is anticipated to be complete by August 23, 2010.

The traveling public is requested to observe signs and to be aware of lane closures and potential temporary detours. Caution and reduced speed is imperative when approaching these work zones due to the magnitude of the volume of traffic. Please remember that it is against the law to cut across on to unpaved surfaces and that traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present.
