School Supply Drive Starts in Texoma

Posted:

WHITESBORO, TX--School is about to start for many students in Texoma. A local organization is gathering school supplies and donations for students and parents who have trouble affording them.

The Texoma Wellness Centers in Whitesboro and Gainesville are collecting school supplies, uniforms and other donations for students who may need assistance.

Just a few of the school districts benefiting from this include Gainesville, Whitesboro, Callisburg, Collinsville, and S & S Schools.

"We'd like to get involved in the community and we saw that it was a real need in our area, and no one was really helping with that and we have a lot of parents who are teachers and we hear stories from them that the kids come to school first week and they have no school supplies and so this has been a really big help for the teachers," Dave Tuck said, Texoma Wellness Center Owner.

Donations are being accepted from August 1st until the 15th.
