Atoka breaks ground on $20M factory

Posted: Updated:

Big news on the Atoka industrial front. City and state officials helped break ground today on a $20-million dollar recycling factory.

Oklahoma Materials Recycling makes a key material used in the manufacture of stainless steel. The company will build a new facility in Atoka's city industrial park using an existing 30,000 square foot building, and will add an 80-foot-tall processing tower to the campus.

Millions of dollars in federal and state guaranteed loans helped make this factory a realization, company officials say. And they chose Atoka in part because of its location and economic incentives.

The factory will take about a year to build, and there will be a job fair late this fall. Eventually, the company will hire about 50 employees with an average salary of about $50,000 a year.
