THACKERVILLE, OK -- Scary moments in downtown Thackerville last night, as somebody tried to fire bomb City Hall.
The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident last night as arson.
Thackerville Police Chief Julie Buckaloo said about 11:30 Monday night, a witness heard a smash around City Hall and saw flames coming from inside. Volunteer firefighters arrived soon and put out the fire.
Once inside, investigators determined a gasoline accelerant was thrown through the window into the city offices. There was quite a bit of damage, but Buckaloo said no important documents were burned and most of city hall could be used the next day. Insurance does cover the damage.
As for the arsonists, Buckaloo said state and local officials continue to track down who did this.
