Get Healthy event to be held at TMC

Posted:

Texoma Medical Center understands that sometimes you need a little extra help to get healthy so the hospital is offering a weight loss event on Thursday, June 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the hospital's main lobby. TexomaCare family medicine physician Dr. Duke Carlson will lead a discussion on ways to encourage yourself to get up off the couch and get healthy. The event will also feature cooking demonstrations from TMC's own top chef Robert Vedner as well as booths on a variety of get-healthy topics. Participants will go home learning what healthy food portions look like, ways to exercise without using bulky or expensive equipment and when weight loss surgery might be a good option.

Seminars with Dr. Carlson will be held at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room #2 and with Bariatric surgeon Dr. Ikram Kureshi at 6:00 pm. Chef Robert Vedner will host cooking demonstrations at 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Reservations are encouraged by calling Direct Doctor's Pluss toll-free at 1.800.960.3893.

This event is part of TMC's Focus on Prevention seminar series. For upcoming events, visit online at www.texomamedicalcenter.net.
