$750-Million Project Hopes to bring in more Tourism

Posted: Updated:

MARSHALL COUNTY, OKLAHOMA--The multimillion dollar Pointe Vista development is teaming up with State Tourism officials to let you know while the project continues Lake Texoma activities are still open.

The $750-million project is still in the works.  Already they have demolished the old State Park building to make room for a new residential community.  The partnership between the State Park and the private entity, Pointe Vista, will offer guests a luxury experience.

Hardy Watkins, Executive Director of Oklahoma Tourism, says the park development is important for the state.  "Lake Texoma is one of our most important parks.  It is also one of our State's most visited parks."  Scott Fisher, Chief Operator of the Point Vista Project adds, "We are looking to capitalize on the that and bring more tourism to Lake Texoma."

Point Vista will cover 3,000 acres across the Lake; it will include a master-planned residential lake community, a hotel, convention center and luxury resort.  Romona says residents in Marshall County are excited about the new renovations stating, "Few Oklahoma areas have seen a project this size".

Officials say the additions will have a positive impact on the surrounding community and help keep Oklahoma capital in Oklahoma while also bringing in out-of-state capital.  As the renovations continue, Lake Texoma is still open for use.
