Texomans Cope With Allergies

Posted: Updated:

GRAYSON CO., TX - It's been a beautiful couple of days across Texoma but for allergy sufferers nice weather can be miserable.

Look around and you will see pollen everywhere. The cold, wet winter has made for a really bad pollen season. One of the worst in a couple of years. Finding relief from watery eyes, congestion and the sniffles can be tough.

"We've had the weather turn so beautiful and we're starting to get out and we've had some pretty good winds, sunny days and winds so the pollen that is there is airborne," said Dr. Vern Laing, a Sherman allergist.

To help tame your allergies, stay inside between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. That's when allergen levels are high. Set your air-condition to re-circulate to help reduce the amount of allergens entering the system. Try over-the-counter remedies, or consider seeing an allergist for long-term treatment.
