Denison to hold annual clean up starting next week

Denison's Annual Cleanup will begin April 5th and continue through April 30th. The project will again follow the regularly scheduled once-monthly brush and limb pickup schedule. However, there will be NO pickup of brush and limbs during the cleanup. brush and limb pickup will resume in May.

This map is also available on the City of Denison web site as the regular brush route. All items must be placed at the front street line of each home by 6:30 am of the day scheduled for that street. No materials should be set out earlier than the weekend preceding the scheduled day. Materials set out too early will be subject to regular curbside charges.

Items should not be placed underneath utility wires, low-lying limbs, on top of gas meters, manholes or water valve boxes. All vehicles and trailers parked by trash piles should be moved so workers have adequate access with large trucks.

The city will pick up appliances, tires and batteries, but they must be kept separate from all other items. The city will not pick up roofing materials or sheetrock unless placed in appropriate containers rented from the city.

The cleanup project is provided for Denison residential sanitation customers only. The city will not pick up any commercial or contractor - generated building, construction, or remodeling materials or debris. The city will also not pick up paint, chemicals or computer monitors.

Residents whose trash is not picked up on the scheduled date should call the Public Works office at 903-464-4451 no later than noon the day following the scheduled pickup. If a failure to pick up the trash is not reported, all materials may be subject to the standard rate of $20.00 per cubic yard.

Beginning Monday, May 3rd, the City will resume charging for special curbside pick ups.
