Ardmore Chamber of Commerce Talks About Health Expo

Posted: Updated:

ARDMORE, OK- The new health care plan has been the topic of discussion across the nation and Saturday, right here in Texoma, the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce is holding their first annual health expo.  Meredith Saldana has more on what you can expect.

The chamber of commerce puts on the business expo every year.

This year they decided to put an emphasis on health and have even added some quick health seminars for those who are interested.

Mita Bates, with the chamber of commerce, says with last month's HIP event kicking off health improvement in the area and the recent nationwide healthcare reform discussions, they couldn't think of a better time to put the health spin on the annual business expo.

"Interestingly enough, no matter where you stand on the healthcare reform issue, probably the greatest benefit we have is that people are actually talking about it," says Bates. "And they become concerned and they're ready to take ownership, take back ownership, of their health. And so it's a great opportunity to come out and get information and learn and find out what will work best for you."

The health expo will be Saturday from 10 am to 2 PM at the Ardmore Convention Center.

It's a free, family friendly event.

KTEN is teaming up with Mercy Memorial Hospital at the expo.

We'll be a part of the passport to health program, stop by and see us!
