Four Rivers hopes for Pepsi Grant

Posted: Updated:

Pepsi has grant money that one of our local recovery programs is hoping to score.  Four Rivers Outreach says the grant money could make the difference in employment opportunities for those in recovery.

Recovery is a hard road.  "Many of our clients have exhausted their resources and burnt bridges with family because of their addiction.  So now, they are basically trying to start over," says Executive Director of Four Rivers, Arthur Horn.

No matter how hard the road, Four Rivers is helping get addicts get back on track.  Former alcohol addict Randy Smith says, "My life had become completely unmanageable.  I was up to 30 beers a day."  Smith knew he needed help and reached out to Four Rivers making a life changing transformation.  "Support is everything, if I wasn't here I'd probably be dead," says Smith.

After going through Four River's programs for almost six months, he is recovering, taking up the guitar again.  A hobby he loved as a child.

As Four Rivers continues to change the lives of our local residents, they are now asking for support to help win a Pepsi grant.  Four Rivers says if they are awarded the grant money, it will go to transportation and career building.  It will also help purchase another van which the facility will use to transport clients who have no cars to and from work.

Turning more lives with no future, into stories of success.  "This will move them from homelessness to a job to a permanent residence," says Horn who has seen this testimony numerous times.
