TUPELO, OK - A Tupelo family is picking up the pieces after a fire destroyed their home.
Neighbors tell KTEN the fire happened around 3 p.m. Saturday at the corner of 4th and Elm Street in the small community of Tupelo in western Coal County. Viewers sent us pictures, showing the mobile home destroyed. The family believes the fire started in one of their children's bedrooms.
Witnesses say everyone was able to get out safely, including a 7-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, but the family did lose their pets and nearly all of their possessions in the fire. Neighbors also say the family has no insurance and is staying with friends.
