Winter Weather Creating Rough Roads - - No One Gets You Closer

Winter Weather Creating Rough Roads

GRAYSON CO., TX - Potholes are popping up all over area roads. It's all due to the unusually wet and cold winter weather we've been having. Katy Blakey has more on what's being done to fix them.

Heavy rains in the fall, coupled with a cloudy and cold winter is doing a number on the roads, and there's very little road crews can do about it. That pattern is causing potholes, dips and cracks.

TxDot says this winter has been tough. They've been busy non-stop repairing the problem areas.

"These past couple of months with the frequent freezing cycle that we've had has done surface damage on several roadways," said Noel Parahanantham with TxDot. "Our maintenance crew has been working around the clock."

Unfortunately, until the sun comes out these problems are going to persist. TxDot says they will go out and fix some of the larger potholes on the roads, but it doesn't help if we get another round of freezing rain or sleet.
