Power Outages Across Oklahoma

Thousands in the Oklahoma area are without power today. They have been without power for almost a day now due to the ice weighing down trees and power lines.  The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is reporting over 140,000 Oklahoma residents and businesses are without power, some of those right here in our area.

In Ada there are over 1,700 customers without power as of noon today. In Bygn over 500 people are without power and in the Pauls Valley area over 1,200 residents are in the dark.

This afternoon, OG&E spokesman Tim Hartley says they were busy setting up what they are calling a "Customer Walk-Up Centers". He says they will have agents available at several locations to answer any questions.  The centers also allow you to report your power outage first hand. There are locations in Ada at Applemarket located on 220 East 13th Street. Another location is in Seminole. The center there is located at their homeland store on 1701 North Milt Philips Avenue. Paul's Valley also has a customer walk-up center located at their homeland store on 505 South Chickasaw. When you walk up they will ask for your name and location, information that will help them answer questions about problems in your area.

To report a power outage call 1-800-522-6870. OG&E officials urge customers who are without power to call and report the outage. They say they do not automatically know whose power is on and who is off. They ask for your help in speeding up their process by calling in a report that way they can send crews to your area quicker and more efficiency.
