Former Marietta Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Relationship with Student

Posted:

A former Marietta High School teacher is under investigation for allegedly having a relationship with a student.  Meredith Saldana looked into this for us and has more on this story.

The superintendent tells me they take accusations of this nature very seriously.

The Marietta School Superintendent, Joe Neely, tells KTEN the teacher in question is no longer employed by the district.

He said he would like to comment further, but, all he can tell us right now is that police are investigating.

Marietta Police Chief, Linda Johnson, confirms that claim telling us police are currently investigating the situation.

She also said it's against her policy to comment on active investigations and said that because the student involved is a minor, it makes it even harder for her to comment.

Of course, we'll let you know if charges are filed.
