COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Texas A&M pass-rushing specialist Von Miller is returning to the Aggies for one more season. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Miller led Football Bowl Subdivision schools with 17 sacks in 2009 from the "jack" position, a combination of defensive end and linebacker.
Miller finished the season with 21.5 tackles for loss and 48 tackles overall. Miller said head coach Mike Sherman helped him make an informed decision about whether to stay in school or try to jump to the NFL a year early.
The Aggies ranked 105th in total defense (426.31 yards per game) in 2009. A&M finished 6-7 after a 44-20 loss to Georgia in the Independence Bowl, but Miller says the Aggies' defense will improve next season.
