Grayson Co. H1N1 Vaccine Clinic

GRAYSON CO., TX -- News of additional H1N1 deaths is exactly why health departments in Oklahoma and Texas stress the need to get vaccinated now.

Dozens showed up at the Grayson County Health Department today in Sherman, both young and old, to get their H1N1 vaccination.  They received both the nasal mist variety, which is the live virus, and the shot.  For some, it was their second dose, recommended for the very young.  Since receiving the first supply of vaccine last fall, nurses vaccinated more than 6,000 Grayson County residents.  But that's just a small percentage of the more than 100,000 who live in the county.  Amanda Ortez, with the health department, says, "We are still having cases of the 2009 H1N1 virus in the public.  So, we need to take part and take advantage of the vaccine.  Get vaccinated now to prevent it.  The H1N1 vaccines are free to all Grayson County residents.  The Sherman and Denison locations are open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 7pm.  The Sherman location is also open on Fridays from 8am to 5pm.
