New Jobs Coming to Texoma

Posted:

DENISON, TX --  Dozens of new jobs could soon come to Denison, and possibly hundreds more to the Texoma area.  The Denison Development Alliance made the big announcement Tuesday morning.  KTEN's Chris Severy reports.

The company is called Alpine Access and they call themselves the world's leading outsourcer of call center services using home-based, virtual customer service agents.  Now what does that mean?  It means Denison and Texoma residents who are hired will work from home serving as customer service agents for some of the biggest companies in the world.  It's the second time in a month the Denison Development Alliance announced new jobs are coming to Denison.  Tony Kaai, DDA President, said, "We specifically designed our incentive agreement if they hire people from Denison, they're gonna receive the incentive.  Now, they're going to hire people from all over the area.  Hopefully hundreds of people, but we're specifically incentivizing them to look hard at people from Denison."  The DDA has a contract with Alpine Access that will pay the company $1500 per person for the first 75 the company hires from the Denison zip code.  That money comes from sales tax in Denison, which means your tax dollars are going to work to bring jobs to the area.  "We're trying to bring quality jobs to Denison.  What we're looking for is the work-at-home, internet athlete who wants to have a good job and be able to keep their lifestyle the way they are," says Alpine Access Executive Director for Strategic Planning David Russell.  Alpine Access provides customer care services for more than ten of the Fortune 100 companies including places like Office Depot and Sprint.  Russell added, "We're not a contracted employee base.  We directly hire our people and they work on a scheduled, hourly basis just like any other fulltime job except they don't have to drive in to do it."  Those the company hires will make between $9-$12/hour, have access to a limited benefit program, get paid time off and a corporate matching 401k plan.  The company is looking to fill these positions over the next two years.
