Man killed in weather-related accident near Marietta


MARIETTA -- A man was killed Tuesday evening in slick road conditions in Love County, this after leaving the roadway and striking a tree.
 Michael Foltz, 54 of Burneyville, Okla., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, reported OHP Trooper Walter Jack. The accident happened about 6:40 p.m. as the 2000 Ford Van was traveling westbound on State Highway 32, about 11 miles east of Marietta, when it left the roadway to the right, traveled approximately 600 feet, and struck a tree.
 The trooper's report states the cause of the accident as unsafe speed for ice or snow on the road. The van was equipped with seat belts, but were not in use, the report added.
 Medical Examiner John Miller pronounced the man dead at the scene and transferred the body to Watts Funeral Home in Madill.
