Be a Santa to a Senior

SHERMAN, TX -- Dozens of area seniors will have a merrier Christmas this year thanks to the "Be a Santa to a Senior" program.

Volunteers, accompanied by jolly ole Saint Nick himself, delivered Christmas presents today to seniors in need.  These seniors are either isolated, lonely or financially challenged.  Glenna Andrews said, "I don't know, I was just overwhelmed to see Santa Claus.  I can't believe this year.  This year is, I don't know.  It just made me feel good.  It brought tears to my eyes to see you all come up here and Santa Claus come up here.  I enjoyed it."  Event organizer Tim Dungan said, "this is, to me, what Christmas is about is just meeting those needs, making sure that they have a great Christmas and showing them that they're appreciated and just kind of giving back."  Home health agencies joined the Area Agency on Aging, Sherman Dialysis Center, Nautilus Sport and Fitness, Virginia Cook Realtors and Landmark Bank to provide presents to 82 seniors who might otherwise have gone without.
