H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Set For Friday In Grayson Co.

GRAYSON CO., TX - The Grayson County Health Department is set to host another free H1N1 vaccine clinic.

Health Department workers will provide the H1N1 nasal spray vaccines to people free on a first-come, first-serve basis Friday, December 11 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Both health department locations will be open and will be administering the vaccine. The Sherman location is located at 515 North Walnut Street. The Denison location is at 205 North Houston Avenue.

According to the health department, the H1N1 nasal spray vaccines should not be given to children younger than 2 and adults 50 years and older, pregnant women, anyone with a weakened immune system, anyone with a long-term health problem such as (heart disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney or liver disease, metabolic disease such as diabetes, anemia and other blood disorders), children younger than 5 years with asthma or one or more episodes of wheezing during the past year, anyone with certain muscle or nerve disorders (such as cerebral palsy) that can lead to breathing or swallowing problems, anyone in close contact with a person with a severely weakened immune system (requiring care in a protected environment, such as a bone marrow transplant unit), children or adolescents on long-term aspirin treatment. 

As more vaccine becomes available to the Grayson County Health Department additional vaccine dispensing sites will be announced.
