Where you can get the Seasonal Flu Shot

Seasonal flu shots are slowly becoming available in Texoma, but they aren't available everywhere just yet. And, if you don't like shots, they are making nasal mists for both.

This year you're going to need two vaccines total, one Seasonal Flu Vaccine and one H1N1 Vaccine. And, health experts say you can get both shots in one day. However, if you choose to get both vaccines via nasal mists, you will need to wait 28 days in between. Another option, though, is to get vaccine as a shot and one nasal mist in the same day.

Right now, seasonal flu shots are available at the Grayson County Health Department in both Sherman and Denison for $25 cash. The shots are being offered Monday-Friday 8 am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm at 515 North Walnut in Sherman and at 205 North Houston in Denison. They are also available at Walgreens Pharmacies for $24.99.

However, health departments across Oklahoma are still waiting on their seasonal flu vaccines. The Bryan County Health Department expects the vaccines to be available in our local counties by October first. They have not yet announced the dates of the drive-thru flu shots.

As for the H1N1 Vaccine, Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says they could be made available as soon as the first week of October.
