Durant Police Department Media Release for 5/13/2009

From news release:

On 05-13-2009 at approximately 0548 hours, I, Ptl. Michael Shufeldt was dispatched to 600 block of S. 2nd Ave. in reference to a stolen vehicle report.  Upon my arrival, I spoke with Brenda Smithey who advised me of the following:

On 05-13-2009 at approximately 0130 hours, she parked her red Jeep Cherokee in the driveway at her house. At approximately 0535 hours, her mother noticed the vehicle was missing from the drivway and told her.  She then went to the driveway where she observed that her Jeep was missing.   I asked Brenda Smithey if her Jeep had any distinguishing marks.  Brenda Smithey advised me that the ignition is broken out, the fenderwells have faded from black to gray, and the headliner on the driver's side is loose.  Brenda Smithey also advised that inside the Jeep was her brown purse with a wooden handle (unknown brand), her checkbook from First United Bank (unknown check numbers), a dark blue women's wind breaker jacket (unknown brand), and a choctaw nation sun visor.  No physical evidence was observed at the scene.

On 05-12-2009 at approximately 2257 hours, I, Ptl. Michael Shufeldt was dispatched to 1201 N. 2nd Ave. (University Arms Apartments) in reference to a possible fight in progress.   I went to apartment where the noise was coming from and made contact with several juveniles and Misty Delozier.   While I was talking with Misty Delozier, the apartment manager  came into the apartment and advised me of the following:

Approximately one week ago,  while the officers were present, she told Misty Delozier that she was banned from the property and was not to come back.  She has also told Misty Delozier several times in the past that she was not allowed on the University Arms property.

I transported Misty Delozier to the Bryan County Jail where she was booked in and cited for trespassing.
