  1. INJURY ACCIDENT

On 050909 at 1601 hours, Officer Shane Walker investigated an injury accident at W. Main and US 75 on ramp.  A 1991 GMC PU, driven by Kristy Mote, was attempting to turn into private drive at green signal light when a 2008 GMC SUV, driven by Ruth Sanders, failed to yield from signal light striking Mote's vehicle.  Kristy Mote was taken to MCSO by private vehicle and her passenger was taken by EMS to MCSO for minor injuries.

  1. INFORMATION

On 05-09-09 at approximately 0001 hours I, Ptl. Drew Hale, was dispatched to the area of Cale Switch Rd. and Posey Ln. in reference to a possible injured dog. Upon arrival I observed a full grown German Shepherd dog walking on Cale Switch with a knife protruding from its head. The dog appeared to be very calm. Myself and Deputy Bannowsky made contact with the dog, which let us pet it and look for a name tag on its collar. We were unable to locate an owner. Due to the seriousness of the injury and the inability to locate an owner, the dog was put down.

Deputy Bannowsky and I went to a residence on  Sunnyside Rd. and spoke to the resident who advised the following:  He was asleep on the couch with the front door open because the air conditioner did not work. His arm was hanging off of the couch. The dog came into the house and bit him on the hand. He sleeps with a knife and out of reaction he grabbed the knife and stuck it in the dogs head. The dog ran away. He attempted to locate the dog but was unsuccessful. He had a small cut on his right hand and told me that was where the dog bit him.
