  1. BREAKING AND ENTERING

On 050509 at approx. 0620 hours, Officer Michael Shufeldt was dispatched to the 3300 block of Washington.  The alarm had went off at 0602 hours.  The north side window had been broken.   A piece of steel was laying below the window.  Items in front of the window had been moved.  It appears nothing was taken from the business.  Footprints showed the suspect leaving in a northbound direction.

  1. ASSAULT

On 050409 at approx. 1420 hours, Officer Tim McEachern was dispatched to the 1200 block of Hillcrest in reference to male brandishing as large knife towards Bryan County EMS.  They had stopped to check on him after observing him walk unsteadedly on the road.  As they approached him the male, Harold Rutz, pulled a large kitchen knife and told them to get back.  Officer McEachern located Mr. Rutz sitting on a porch not at his residence.  Officer McEachern had to order him several times to stand up and then to drop the knife.  As the officer started to put handcuffs on the subject, he pulled away and then was placed on the ground.  Mr. Rutz had a strong odor on him that the officer associated with an alcoholic beverage and had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.  He was booked in on charges of Assault with dangerous weapon, Public Intoxication and Resisting arrest.

  1. THEFT

16' black utility trailer  $800

On 050409 at approx. 2025 hours, Officer Brandon Carbaugh took a theft report from Dale Wagoner in the 1300 block of N. 1st.  Between the hours of 1200 and 1930, the trailer was taken.  It was loaded with trash at the time it was taken.  Currently there are no suspects.

    Suspects fire on Pushmataha County deputy

    PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, OK -- Someone got into a gunfight with a Pushmataha County deputy on Wednesday morning. Now the search is on for two suspects. Sheriff B.J. Hedgecock said the occupants of a pickup truck fired several shots at a deputy's vehicle.  "The deputy was not injured and returned fire," Hedgecock said in a written statement.

Police said a man attempted to pass five counterfeit $100 bills at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on FM 1417. After reviewing surveillance footage from the grocery, the suspects' white Kia Sportage was spotted at the Hilton Garden Inn in Denison.
