  1. ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES/DUID ARREST

On 031609 at approx. 0913 hours, Officer Michael Shufedlt investigated an injury accident in the 400 block of N. 1st.  A 1997 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Dustin Eggenberg, left the roadway striking a speed limit sign and then a utility pole, breaking the pole.  Eggenberg advised he was text messaging and ran off the road.  He and his 2 children were transported to MCSO for treatment.

Upon further investigation, Officer Shufeldt noticed that Eggenberg's speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet.  Eggenberg admitted to taking 2 Hydrocodone pills and 2 Tylenol 3 pills a little over an hour prior to accident.  After treatment for a head injury, Eggenberg was arrested for DUID and transported to Bryan County Jail.

Eggenberg's 5 year old son was treated and released.  The 3 year old daughter was admitted for a fractured pelvis.
