Whitewright Teenager Killed In Car Accident

A 17 year-old Whitewright teenager was killed in a car accident just before one a.m. Sunday morning.

Texas DPS troopers say Josh Holder was the passenger in a car driven by 17 year-old Ricky Pirkle.  Troopers say Pirkle was driving southbound on White Mound Road, just outside tom bean, when, for an unknown reason Pirkle's vehicle left the roadway.

Pirkle's car struck a colvert on the east side of the road, then hit a pipe fence, causing damage to the front and side of the vehicle.  Troopers say Holder was pronounced dead at the scene.   Pirkle was taken to Wilson N. Jones with minor injuries.

Counselors are coming to the school Monday to speak with, and help students through this tragic time.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, but no times or dates have been set.
