North Texas Police Chase Ends Dramatically

We have footage taken from a police chase Wednesday morning in the Dallas area, that ended just before KTEN News Midday went on the air.

In our video, you can see the suspect's red car driving. Grapevine Police say this all began around nine o'clock Wednesday morning, when a Grapevine officer pulled the suspect over for a quote "mental health issue."

They say the suspect then allegedly attempted to run over the Grapevine Police officer.

This chase went north on Interstate 35-E in Irving, passing by Texas Stadium, then looped around on State Highway 114 -- in the Las Colinas and D/FW Airport area.

Before the chase came to an end, shortly before 10:30 near Highway 114 and Highway 377...  it was a somewhat dramatic conclusion, as police officers smashed through the suspect's driver side window, and roughly a dozen officers literally had to pull the suspect out of the vehicle.

The suspect fought back against officers, but within moments was on the ground in handcuffs.

The suspect appears to have been injured.  Just before 11am, the suspect was airlifted to a Dallas hospital.
