TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Federal prosecutors have filed drug charges against eight Mexican nationals for plotting to traffic methamphetamine and cocaine in the Tulsa area.

5 of the men and two women listed Tulsa-area addresses and made initial appearances Wednesday in federal court in Tulsa following their arrests on conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine complaints.

Authorities say Ruben Garcia, who has residences listed in Tulsa and Texas was taken into custody in Mesquite, Texas.

Authorities began investigating the group in May 2006, alleging Garcia and the others conspired to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of meth and five kilograms or more of cocaine in the Tulsa area.
