OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Four candidates have filed as candidates for a vacant state House seat in western Oklahoma.
Democrats Larry Peck of Sentinel and Alex Damon of Cordell joined Republicans Todd Russ of Cordell and Jeff Ledford of Hobart in filing.
All four candidates filed on Monday, the first day of a 3-day filing period for the open seat. The filing period ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The traditionally Democratic seat represents a district comprised of all of Washita County and parts of Kiowa, Caddo and Canadian counties.
Rep. Ryan McMullen, D-Burns Flat, resigned from the seat last month after being appointed as state director of rural development with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
A primary is set for Sept. 8, with the special election on Oct. 13.
