Child Recovering after Nearly Downing in Lake Texoma

4-year-old Damien Hicks, who nearly drowned in Lake Texoma, is now recovering at Children's Hospital in Dallas.     

Reports show he was at the Platter Flats area of Lake Texoma near Cartwright, Oklahoma. He was playing in about 2-feet of water, when he stepped off a 5-foot drop-off, and went under water for approximately five minutes.     

The lake patrol says, Hicks started breathing on his own about 30-seconds after two people started CPR.     

The accident happened around 5 p.m. Saturday. Hicks was flown to Children's Hospital in serious condition, but is now listed in good condition.    

Damien Hicks is from Bennington, Oklahoma.
